چکیده
Received on 22 May and finalized on 21 June 2013. _____________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT Monocrotophos is the Asia’s most selling insecticide is a systemic and highly toxic organophosphorus pesticide that has been banned in many Countries and known to produce cholinergic and non-cholinergic effects. It listed as a Prior Informed Consent chemical, and it is still used extensively in developing Countries. Asian Countries are top user of monocrotophos because of its low cost, but same time people are using it to committing the suicides. This particular review involved in the study of toxicity, decomposition and fate in environment.

Sulfur dioxide emissions in Iran and environmental impacts of sulfur recovery plant in Tabriz Oil Refinery
Background: Combustion of fossil fuels contributes to sulfur dioxide (SO2) emissions. To deal with this issue, the government of Iran has appointed the oil refineries to upgrade their installations and produce high quality fuels. Thus, this study investigated the status of SO2 emissions in Iran and the capability of advanced technologies to control SO2 emissions. Methods: The status of SO2 em...

Floating platforms at the hydropower plant reservoirs are attractive sites for aquaculture, fishing and other recreational activities. However, the unregulated construction of these platforms may negatively affect the fauna, flora and water quality of reservoirs. Thus, this study aimed to evaluate the impact of floating platforms on the limnological aspects of Nova Ponte hydropower plant reserv...

The present study has been conducted on Caspian Roach (Rutilus rutilus) so that the impact of different concentrations lead on blood hematological, biochemical, and immunological indicators could be investigated. The roach (Rutilus rutilus), used in this study, was 3.3±0.3 g heavy and 4±0.80 cm long in average. The fish were exposed to a low concentration of 10% LC50 and high concentration of 5...
متن کاملNeuroendocrine regulation and pesticidal impact on freshwater crab, Barytelphusa guerini (H. Milne Edwards).
The extensive use of pesticides to control agricultural pests poses a serious threat to many non-target organisms of the aquatic environment such as the freshwater crab, B. guerini. The deleterious influence of the pesticide causes physiological, biochemical, histological and such other disorders in the animal exposed. In the present study impact of an organophosphate pesticide, monocrotophos a...
متن کاملBiochemical investigations on monocrotophos exposed fish, Channa gachua (Ham.)
The freshwater fish, Channa gachua was exposed to sub-lethal concentrations of an organophosphorus pesticide, monocrotophos. The fish was exposed to acute toxicity of monocrotophos for 16, 24 and 48 hours while for chronic toxicity it was exposed for 15, 30 and 45 days. The monocrotophos was found to be toxic to the fish, which was found to be increasing with the increase of its concentration. ...
